Welcome to Ndegeya Safaris
Our name is derived from Ndegeya which is the luganda word for the Village Weaver Bird. Village weavers are social birds that make hanging nests in palm trees, gardens and near river banks. They feed (on seeds & berries) together mainly on the ground. Weavers make about 9 different calls with a few that are understood by other birds most especially alarm calls. As they live and breed in colonies, the males are fond of fighting for dominance around the nesting areas. Competition of who makes the best nest lures them into a fight as they try to compete for females.
